Ever wish you had paid more attention during American history
class
in school? I know that I do! It wasn't until recently that I have
really become interested in my
American history. I emphasize the word “my” because as an American, it
is my history. I started to realize that there was so much that I either
never learned, or that I have forgotten.
The early years surrounding the American Revolution and the founding of America really
interests me…
I love learning about our founding
fathers , and everything that happened around the time of
the American Revolution.
I am fascinated with our Constitution and the Declaration of Independence and how relevant it
still remains today.
It's fun to learn historical facts about some of the
women in US history, and how they helped shape the country. Reading the quotes by famous women, you get to know a little more about them.
It's interesting to discover that early American politics weren't much
different than they are today
I love discovering new fun facts and trivia about America…
…for instance, the fact that
John Adams and Thomas Jefferson
died on
the same day - July 4, 1826. Exactly 50 years
after both signed the Declaration of Independence.
If I learned that in school, I forgot about it, and I think it's
interesting!
Let's take a Fun Fact break for a little
silliness...
Now... back to more serious stuff (not too
serious, though!)...
I do not pretend to be a historian...but I do have a passion for U.S. history and American
politics, and I hope to pass on some fun facts that you will enjoy.
