During the 1880's and 1890's Clinton, Iowa boasted 13 resident millionaires; more millionaires per capita than any other city in the nation. At that time, Clinton was considered the "Lumber Capitol of the World".

Clinton, OH - Lumber Capitol of the World

Thank you for your post about Clinton, Ohio. I never knew that it was known as the "Lumber Capitol of the World" back in the late 1800's! That is the fun of having this website. I get to learn new American history "fun facts" every day!
