...that Thomas Edison didn't invent the light bulb? He did invent a "better" lightbulb, however. After testing over 3000 filaments, the Thomas Edison lightbulb was a practical, long lasting (13 hours or more) and durable source of incandescent light. ...that Thomas Alva Edison invented the phonograph? While working on a telegraph transmitter machine, he noticed that the telegraph machine tape made a sound that resembled words being spoken when the tape was played on high speed. ...that Thomas Edison's first recording of the spoken word was a recording of "Mary had a little lamb"?
