Civil War reenactments (sometimes misspelled as Civil War reinactments) can give you a glimpse into history and what it was like during this trying period in American history. These reenactments can give you a feel about what it was like during that time.
You can see Civil War weaponry and Civil War costumes, bringing to life one of American history's most challenging time. The internet allows many people who may otherwise not get to see a reenactment to watch one. I've included some re-enactment videos below, and you can also find History Channel Civil War DVDs here.
We have also started a directory and calendar for Civil War Reenactment events. You can add your event or find one in your area at the bottom of this page! If you have information about an upcoming reenactment or Civil War event (walking tour, lecture, etc), please use the form at the bottom of this page to share it with our visitors. Your event will also be published on our public Google calendar - Civil War Re-enactment Events, allowing visitors to add your event to their calendars too!
There are good video clips of reenactments on YouTube and other sites, and there are some great reenactment videos and DVD's available for purchase. Gettysburg has an annual reenactment , which they filmed in 2008 and now offer on DVD. If you can't make it to see the actual Gettysburg reenactment, you can still watch it at home.
For current news relating to the Civil War, visit our Civil War News Feed page. You'll find the top published stories of the day there - feeds from Bing and Google available.
The History Channel
Civil War DVD's are perfect for learning more about the Civil war. Not necessarily Civil War
reenactments, but some great documentaries on the Civil War nonetheless. You can also find a ton of documentaries and movies about the Civil War on Amazon. One of the best documentaries is Ken Burns Civil War DVD.
.
You can also view the History Channel's full length video about Gettysburg online, for only $2.99 (HD)or $1.99 (non HD).
For instant access to hundreds of Civil War and American history videos, you might consider joining "Amazon Prime". With your membership, you can have unlimited instant streaming of thousands of movies, TV shows and documentaries.
If you like Civil War reenactments, you might like to subscribe to a Civil War magazine or two. Great way to read some in depth articles and find out more information about the Civil War. You can learn Civil War facts, read biographies and view Civil War photos by reading Civil War magazines. Some of the popular magazines are:

Do you need to find a Civil War costume or dresses for Halloween or a re-enactment? You might try Costume Craze - for a nice selection of Civil War soldier uniforms and costumes. The Civil War Store
is another place to find replicas, boots, hats and other accessories for your re-enactments. We also have a Patriotic Costume page that showcases some great historical costumes. And of course, Amazon offers a wide variety of Civil War era costumes, as you can see from my selections below.
There are some great Civil War iphone apps available on iTunes. Some are free, others can be yours for a small fee. Here are some that are popular with visitors to this website.
If you like Civil War art and images, please visit our Civil War Art store on Amazon!
This calendar shows upcoming Civil War re-enactment events that are taking place all over the USA. You can find an event in your area and easily sync that information to your own Google Calendar - and from there to your mobile device. Click on any event in the calendar to read more about that event and to find links to their information websites.
Another site to list your reenactment information is at Civil War Reenactment Headquarters.
