History videos, especially newsreels, are fascinating to watch! Written history can sometimes be selective and/or biased, based on the person(s) writing. You have no doubt heard the term "re-writing history"...
A historical video, however, sometimes captures a true moment in time. Newsreels, in particular, can really let you see what it was like in a prior period in history. Yes, they can be edited, but for the most part you get a better sense of what really happened by watching a newsreel video from history.
I've found some interesting videos on YouTube and have posted some on this page and other pages on this website. You can also access several of my favorite YouTube videos by clicking on the YouTube icon on the bottom bar on all pages of this website.
Fun Fact: In 1752,
the calendar used by England
and the
American colonies had
only 354 days.
That year the type of
calendar was changed,
resulting in 11 days being "lost".

Historical documentaries are also valuable learning tools. The History Channel offers a large selection of historical videos and History Channel videos for your enjoyment.
Another really good place to look for History DVD's, Blu-Rays and even older VHS tapes is to search eBay. You can often pick up a previously viewed copy or even brand new DVD's for a great price!
And of course, Amazon is always a great place to search for movies and DVD's of any type! You can find a wide variety of movies and documentaries there. You can also buy new or used DVD's, Blu-Rays and VHS tapes on Amazon, and you often have a range of prices to choose from.
